Product Information. Give a memorable presentation with the Digital Galaxy DG-747 projector. This lightweight Digital Galaxy Projector produces superior image quality as it boasts a contrast ratio of 800:1 and native resolution of 800 x 600 pixels.
This multimedia projector features 2500 ANSI lumen brightness, providing bright and colorful images. With lamp life of average 5000 hours you can use this Digital Galaxy Projector for several hours per day. The Digital Galaxy DG-747 projector placed at 1.76-5.51 m distance displays clear and large images on the screen.
Portable and easy-to-use, this multimedia projector becomes the ideal choice for all the hardcore professionals. Good for the money Purchased for use outside for movie night. Projects well using large white fence as a screen. As others have stated the instructions are lacking but with some intuitive trial and error, workable. Big + surprise was how loud the internal speaker is.
Dislike = the component input/output panel labeling is black (raised plastic) and very small. Not easy to see in low light (you'll need a flash light).
Remote controller sync to projector reception a tad bit 'wonky' based on direction of signal, but again workable. Not a unit that kids could use without some help. For the buck however, pretty darn good deal. Have not had long enough to determine reliability or longevity. Verified purchase: Yes Condition: New. Digital Galaxy Dream Land DG-747 Projector Week 1 It's been one week now, and this thing is still going strong. Last time I visited my family, we had used an entire wall to watch a movie on, 130inches!
But once you get that big, you could justtt make out a refresh rate line crawling up the screen like you do if you take a camera and point it at a television. It is bright enough to watch during the daytime if the curtains are shut and the lights are off.
I wouldn't recommend this as a replacement for a tv though. Unless of course, you had it close to the screen so that the picture is smaller and brighter. It has every almost every input on it, which is nice, but there is no headphone jack style audio input. I have an adapter that converts the computer's headphone jack into the component red and white cables for sound, so it is not a proble m for me. The only other con was that the fan is pretty loud.
But you don't really notice it after a little while. It does have an internal speaker, so this thing is ready to plug and play with no need for a speaker system. However, since it is just one speaker inside of the projector, it wouldn't hurt to have a cheap surround sound system so the audio is more crisp.
All in all, it is BY FAR the best projector for the money. It IS completely worth paying the extra $100 dollars for this one over the cheaper models on ebay, as this projector has 800x600 resolution, and the other ones have like 640x480. This was a great deal! Bang for buck. But, THE NEW DG-747L LAST 20X LONGER!
This was a great deal! Its 5” LCD is not as sharp as traditional DLP! It is best for Standard Definition viewing, not High Definition! However, there is great “Bang for Buck”. The Digital Galaxy DG-747 projector makes a great starter / affordable projector for anyone. FYI, THE NEW DG-747L BULB LAST 20X LONGER!
(Caution, there are NO replacement LED bulbs available online) Update; I have noticed that the bigger the projection, the better. As in 300' or greater. This is a great buy! Update; I have used this projector (DG-747L – LED) daily for the last two years. I have noticed very considerable dimming of the LED light source. I discovered that I cannot find a replacement LED anywhere online.
I also opened the projector to find that these would not be easy to swap out if I had a replaceme nt LED! Due to this factor, it appears that the plain old DG-747, non LED, is the better buy long term. This is a good entry level projector We purchased this projector to use for movies connected to a laptop. For this purpose it works very well, is sharp, clear, and easy to use. We do not attempt to use it except in a dark or nearly dark room so lighting has never been a problem. One trick we use when hanging a sheet as a screen anywhere in the open is to use 2 sheets, a white one in front and very dark colored one behind it.
It makes the picture much brighter. The projector works well, the documentation is terrible as stated in many other reviews.
Minus 1 star for quality of documentation. Great value projector for multiple uses. The Digital Galaxy DG-747 projector makes a great starter / affordable projector for anyone. After about a week of use i can say that the picture quality is decent but nothing compared to the high end projectors.

Lots of inputs to connect almost anything you want to project. The brightness is also not high-end but it is visible with the lights on but definately not enjoyable. The fan is kinda noisy but once you have the volume on you will barely notice it after a minute, its not anny worse than a small battery powered fan. Overall, for the price it makes a great projector for a lowe cost home theater or to project onto a wall somewhere to play games or watch movies.
